Cob is an amazingly functional material and is very pleasing to live with. I’m a student of Natural Building and I’m currently building small Cob structures such as ovens, benches, and garden walls. I've been focused on installing some earthen floors lately. It's been a fun project and a good challenge. Installing a modern earthen floor properly is one of the most difficult earth building techniques to pull off successfully. If you can do earthen floors, you'll probably have no problem doing anything else, like building earth walls or applying earth plaster.

"Can I even get a permit for a natural building?"

This might be the most frustrating question in the whole process.
