The GCS Board of Education has appointed Mr. Derek Franklin to fill the seat that was vacated due to the resignation of Mr. Brian Milk. Per NY Education Law, this will be a partial one-year term that will run through our next annual election to be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2027.

Exciting things are happening in the district! Here is this week’s construction progress!

Please be advised that our construction teams have been focusing on getting the gym, bathrooms, counseling office, and auditorium work done as quickly as possible. We are also getting ready to:

🪟Replace windows at the front of the Middle School as school gets started. This will mean our community will see some of the window spaces covered with plywood as our team preps the window areas for the installation of new windows.

🏀 Install a new partition in the Primary School gymnasium. This will mean that our gym spaces will not be available to our community until this is completed. We are awaiting the partition’s arrival and hope to have this done shortly.

🪧 Install a new digital sign at the Primary / Intermediate School campus. We do not anticipate any major disruption with this install but the lawn will be dug up!

Other important work is also being done that you don’t necessarily see include:

📚Replacing air handlers needed to ensure that our spaces are ventilation, heated and cooled appropriately.

📌 Removing the old fuel tank.

✏️ Continuing the work in our crawl space for air flow.
