My martial arts journey began more than 36 years ago, and in January 2000, I opened the Indiana Academy of Martial Arts. The following year, in October 2001, we held our very first Tri-State Championship Tournament.

From the beginning, my goal for the Tri-State Championship has been simple: to provide a fun, fair, and welcoming event where competitors of all skill levels have the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop as martial artists.

We are truly blessed to have an incredible group of instructors who share those same values and passion. Together, we take great pride in creating a respectful and positive environment filled with outstanding sportsmanship and spirited competition.

After 25 years, it is incredibly rewarding to see what this tournament has become—and I look forward to welcoming everyone back to the mat this year!
