... yea, this rocks: this is my student, Gavin, with some original riffing. It's based on my "Classic Rock In A" lesson.... where I guide students using the pentatonic scales to create that classic 70's sound ala Aerosmith etc... the stuff I hold close to my chest..
.. but some things... you cannot teach... Gavin has the intangibles... the intricacies that make a good, original rocker...

… 13 years ago today… an idea was presented… great weird minds collaborated… and there was a bandsaw… intestinal fortitude… big, figurative hearts too…

… and we’re still just 5 students… an additional teacher or two… maybe even a fundraiser away from true success…

… I jest: success isn’t measured by numbers; it’s measured by impacting others for the good… in the form of meaningful work that gives you the warm ‘n fuzzies…

… besides practice: easily #1 overlooked… blown/brush off - understandable - we want to play cool, pretty guitar…feel the feelz of music……….but not knowing A, B Cs…will bite somewhere…sometime… in time… in the..

… great big picture: knowing the fretboard leads to keen… crystal-like clarity good/great relative pitch… cracks the music code…. oh… and an and…helps… yes you.. find your sound. Yours…
