There is a moment between the world touching you and you responding to it. Most days we skip right past it.

“Stuff of Thought,” a new body of painting by Li Montalvo, opens in the Prindle Institute’s northern wing next week. The exhibition explores the sacred pause: the brief interval where awareness becomes possible before habit takes over. Through geometric abstraction and a restrained palette, these paintings do not tell a story. They ask you to slow down and notice your own mind at work.

Join us as a volunteer for Voices and Votes this fall. The exhibit runs October 10 through November 20, with shifts of 3-4 hours across mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends, so there’s a fit for almost any schedule. No special background is needed, just a love of community and an interest in the conversations democracy asks us to have. All volunteers will attend a short training session before their first shift.
