🚍 BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER 📚
School starts Wednesday, August 5, and that means school buses are back on the roads!
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department is reminding everyone to help keep our students safe as they travel to and from school.
🚸 Remember:
🟡 Flashing Amber Lights = Slow down and prepare to stop.
🔴 Flashing Red Lights & Stop Arm = STOP. It is the law.
👮 Deputies will be increasing patrols in school zones and along bus routes during the first weeks of school.
🚔 Zero Tolerance for School Bus Stop-Arm Violations
Please:
✅ Slow down in school zones.
✅ Watch for children walking and riding bicycles.
✅ Eliminate distractions while driving.
✅ Give yourself extra travel time.

Greencastle Community School Corporation starts tomorrow 8/5

Please have patience as we start a new school year. When in doubt stop.

Students from around the state are heading back to school, which means you will be seeing school buses on our roads. The Indiana State Police want to remind everyone the importance of watching for stopping school buses while they are picking up and dropping off students.

Do you know when to stop for a school bus? ISP created a helpful graphic to make sure everyone is safe on their commute.

Two-Lane Roadways

If a school bus stops on a two lane road and the red flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended, all motorists MUST stop.

Multi-Lane Roadways with NO Barrier between Lanes

When a school bus stops on a multi-lane roadway without a barrier and the red flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended, all motorists MUST stop.

Multi-Lane Roadway with a Grassy and/or Concrete Barrier

When a school bus stops and the red flashing lights are activated and the stop arm is extended, only vehicles behind the bus MUST stop. Vehicles that are approaching from the opposite side are NOT required to stop.

🚌Students who rode the bus last year are already on the list. If no changes, no need to contact us.
If your child moved up to TZ, the transfer bus information will change. If your child moved up to MS, they no longer transfer.

🚌 New Students - call Transportation @ 765-653-6840 to set up busing.

🚌Transportation staff will be on hand with bus info on Meet the Teacher nights at Ridpath, Deer Meadow on Monday Aug 3rd from 4:30pm -6pm and TZ from 5:30 -7:30pm😊
