Yesterday, our GJHS students had the opportunity to attend Launch Conway, a hands-on career expo at the Conway Expo Center! Students explored a variety of careers and connected with local employers and training providers in fields including healthcare, construction, manufacturing, public service, transportation, and more.

Congratulations to these students on their placement into All-Region! These students competed against 20+ schools from Fort Smith to North Little Rock against hundreds of students in each of their voice parts.
Thank you to Mr. Stone and all of our teachers for giving our students the space, support, and care to grow in the arts alongside their learning! We couldn’t have done it without you! 🎶👏🏻

Today, our 8th grade ELA classes came together in the library for a special “memorial” honoring The Outsiders characters Johnny Cade and Dallas “Dally” Winston. During the memorial, students participated in Socratic discussions—student-led conversations that use thoughtful questions and evidence from the text to explore ideas more deeply. Through these discussions, students practiced critical thinking, active listening, speaking, and supporting their ideas with textual evidence.
RIP Johnny and Dally
(And stay golden, Pony Boy!)
