We are honored to recognize a Westside Elementary Staff Member who is also an important person in the Greenbrier Counseling DepartmentâŚan individual who truly embodies what it means to put students and families first. Mrs. Cassie Hodges is always willing to step up, go above and beyond, and do whatever is needed to support the social, emotional, and behavioral well-being of the students in her building. You can find her busy at work teaching lessons, calming anxiety, giving great big hugs, solving a conflict, or pumping someone up on a bad day.
Whether it is helping families after hours or on weekends, serving at every summer food pantry opportunity, finding and purchasing shoes for a student in need, completing a home visit, taking a student to a doctorâs appointment, or simply being there when a child or family needs someone to advocate for them, she never hesitates to help. Mrs. Hodges generously mentors new counselors, shares her knowledge and experience, and supports her colleagues.
She is the kind of person who sees a need and simply says, âWhat can I do?â and then does it. Much of her work happens quietly behind the scenes, but its impact is immeasurable.
Selfless, thoughtful, and intentional are how others describe her, and she has a remarkable ability to recognize and respond to the needs of others. Mrs. Hodges doesnât just talk about doing âwhatever it takesââshe lives it every day, and we are proud to present her with this monthâs Whatever It Takes award.
