Mrs. Roach's word study group made cup telephones to round out their week of learning the roots "tele" (far) and "phon/phone" (sound). This allowed the students to see the meanings of the roots in action-that a telephone transmits sound from far away 🤩

First grade is traveling back in time to learn all about the Ancient Maya! 🌎🏺🔎

We kicked off our Mayan study with a fun “Can You Dig It?” activity! Our little archaeologists dug through rice to uncover artifacts connected to Mayan life, including corn, squash, bones, pyramids, calendars, hieroglyphics, and more. We talked about how archaeologists use artifacts to learn about people who lived long ago.

We’re also connecting our learning to our own classroom community by discussing what it takes to build a successful civilization—and a successful classroom! 💙 We talked about how working together, showing respect, being responsible, and supporting one another help our classroom community thrive.

Such a fun way to bring Social Studies to life! 🏺✨

Kindergarten students are dismissing at 2:30 today only. If you are picking up a kinder student, follow the red arrows like we practiced at Kinder Camp. If you are not picking up a kinder student, you will line up where the yellow star is. We will dismiss all kinder students and their siblings first then move the rest of our parents to follow the red arrows. Please remember to pull as close as you can to the person in front of you and do not exit your vehicle while in the car rider line.
