Today was a bitter sweet day. I closed my home childcare. I was blessed with the best families over the 7 1/2 years. And I thank Bethany Tibbs and her family as the start of my childcare journey which lead to other great families; Kelsey Quillen and Madeline Christin as well as other short term clients. God has provided another opportunity with a local childcare program. Pray I will enjoy my new journey.

I think my Mother Dawn Johnson for all the help she provided when I needed to go for appointments. I could not have maintained my childcare without her. And I praise God for providing for my needs.

What an opportunity this week. Science and baking. So glad ripe bananas lead us to baking today. My kids came up with a science project to make a lava lamp with water, oil, food coloring, and alka-selter, on election day. And maybe we are up to OTHER shenanigans this week.

Something to work on at this age is cut and paste. You can give a small piece and have them go at it. Or make strips so its a little easier to see success when cutting. I suggest starting with a heavy card stock, like an old invitation card or note card. Then work your way up to regular paper. Once the concept is learned and they are cutting well, you can move to cutting lines.

So proud of us for trying something new today. I highly recommend the kiwi co for this homemade ice cream project. They provide a well made kit to get you started. All you need is ingredients, ice, and ice cream rock salt. It took us about 45 minutes to make. Once assembled we rolled it around on the floor to churn it, so very interactive. We then crushed oreo cookies for a topping and ate the ice cream right up for snack time.

Pipe cleaners can make any beading project easy to manage and work on fine motor skills. I used a more fluffy kind.
