The wait is officially over—our hallways, classrooms, and campuses are buzzing with excitement because our students are back on campus! The energy across the district is absolutely electric today, and we could not be more thrilled to welcome you back for the 2026-2027 school year! ✨🏫

You are walking through our doors today as absolute history-makers! Last year, our incredible students, educators, and staff smashed records by achieving the HIGHEST points total in our district’s history, while proudly maintaining our prestigious A-rating since 2018. We are so proud of everything you’ve achieved, and we know this year is going to be even bigger, brighter, and better! 📈💪

The backpacks are packed, and the alarms are set! 🎒⏰

As our students head back to class tomorrow morning for the first day of the new school year, it’s the perfect time for a quick refresher on getting to school safely. Whether you walk, ride, or drive, we all play a part in keeping our school community safe.

Check out these tips to help us all arrive safe:

🚶‍♂️ WALK SAFE!

Heads Up, Phone Down! Stay alert and aware of your surroundings.

Use sidewalks and cross only at corners and crosswalks.

Look LEFT-RIGHT-LEFT before crossing.

Be seen!

🚲 RIDE SAFE! (Bikes, E-Bikes, & E-Scooters)

Helmet On: Wear a helmet—it’s the LAW for riders under 16!

Obey all traffic laws, stop signs, and traffic lights.

Ride with traffic, stay off your phone, and yield to walkers on the sidewalk.

E-Riders: You are fast and quiet. Drivers don't always expect you—be extra alert and slow down at intersections!

🚌 BUS SAFE!

Wait in a safe place well away from the road.

Board or cross ONLY when the driver gives you the "OK" signal.

Stay seated and keep the aisle clear.

Drivers: Please review the "School Bus Safety Rules" graphic below so you know exactly when you MUST stop!

🚗 DRIVE SAFE!

Slow down, especially in school zones.

Expect the unexpected—look twice for kids at every intersection, driveway, and crosswalk.

Give bicyclists at least 3 feet of clearance.

Put the phone away, no texting, and focus on the road.

⏰ School Start & End Times: Verify exact bell schedules and arrival times for your student's specific campus.

🚌 Transportation & Bus Information: Confirm bus route numbers, pickup/drop-off times, and stop locations.

🍎 Breakfast & Lunch Details: Check cafeteria menus, meal prices, and meal account setups.

📱 Communication & Focus Portal: Ensure you have downloaded the OneClay Focus app to access schedules, grades, and attendance, and check that your primary OneClay app is updated for direct messaging and school announcements.

We are excited to announce that this year, SPS has partnered with Baker's Sports to provide a school store with shirt options for our families this year. This will allow you to order tshirts, run/walk shirts, and sweatshirts as you need or want for your scholar all year! All orders will be placed directly on their website and then shipped right to your home! Please note that ordering a school shirt is never required, simply optional!

With students heading back to class this week, bike racks across Clay County are filling up fast! Whether you're riding a traditional bike, e-bike, or e-scooter, safety starts before you even step on the pedals.

Keep these quick tips in mind for a smooth ride:

Obey the Rules: Follow all traffic laws, stop signs, and signals.

Go with the Flow: Always ride with the flow of traffic, not against it.

Stay Alert: Ditch the distractions, look ahead, and watch for hazards.

Be Seen & Predictable: Use hand signals when turning or stopping so drivers know your next move.

Protect Your Brain: Wear a helmet—it’s Florida law for riders under 16!
