At The Power of Dance, every Title contestant must write an essay (or draw us a picture if they are a little one!) about what their chosen charity means to them. From DAY ONE, I have said that The Power of Dance is not just about raising money for charities -- it's real purpose is to get dancers to think about why they were blessed with their health and talent, and how those can best be used. I had the absolute privilege of receiving and reading well over 500 of these essays just this season. Over 500 dancers who took the time to think about using their gifts to help others, and how that made them feel. Rarely were my eyes dry as I read these each week. Reading through them all again yesterday, to choose a representative smattering to share here, affected me no less. We all want to make a difference in the world. Helping thousands of kids do just that each year -- it's just a gift beyond words.
