Dear Past & Present Staff, Children & Giving Nest Families:
It has taken me two days to be able to open my computer and go to this page. I couldn't even look at it because I knew I would cry! As I type this now, I have tears in my eyes!
The past few months and especially the last week of school I have been so overcome with emotion. The Giving Nest has always been more than a school and a job for me~ it has been my second home that has been filled over the years with ALL OF YOU!
To put into words my heartfelt love, appreciation, honor, and privilege it has been the past 32 years is absolutely impossible. On the last day of school (my very last day of being at The Giving Nest) and I walked out of the office to see the children lined up in the hallway took my breath away! When they began singing Skim-a-rink - well you can only imagine!
And then I walked outside to see so many people - SO MANY PEOPLE ~ I was totally caught off guard and blown away. All these beautiful and adored faces suddenly appeared! It slowly registered and I saw my family ~ my husband Jeff of 44 years, Jeffery, Kiley, Lena, Franny, Perry, Tom, David, Kristen, Bella, Jack, Penelope, John (Brady and Wyatt weren't able to be there), my sister Judy and Greg, and my sister-in-law Ruth and her grandchildren Jackie & Abby.
Then I started to look around and I realized that it wasn't just my current staff and families that were in front of me - it was past staff and Giving Nest families! It was the church staff ~ Father Pringle, Bill, Jeanne, Jean and Linda! It was my business partner Debbie Hannon, and past and present staff and families!
To say I felt loved is an understatement. I was handed flowers, gifts and cards - many with no names. So I must use this post to say two very simple words BUT filled with so much love ~
"THANK YOU!" You truly will hold a dear and special place in my heart forever and I love you all very much!
In closing, I would be remiss if I didn't say a huge Thank You to Jennifer and Jill! I only know a bit of what you have done to put everything together! I love you dearly.
