Last week, our Maritime, Welding, and CDL instructors and coordinators traded classrooms and training labs for the driver's seat at Universal Driving Facility!
Working in mixed teams, they tackled new challenges, learned new skills, and stepped outside their usual areas of expertise. The day wrapped up with a little friendly competition—and we're happy to report that most of the cones survived. 😂
A great reminder that some of the best learning happens when we collaborate, try something new, and have a little fun along the way.

The best way to prepare for an emergency is before one happens.
Participants in our Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training at Waupaca Foundry recently had the opportunity to learn directly from the professionals they may work alongside during an emergency response. Gold Cross Ambulance visited the class, providing a hands-on look inside an ambulance, sharing insights about emergency communications, and helping learners better understand the real-world situations they may encounter.
This 80-hour EMR course prepares individuals to provide emergency medical care and builds the knowledge and skills needed for Wisconsin EMR certification. With 18 participants currently enrolled, these future responders are gaining valuable experience that extends beyond the classroom.
Thank you to Gold Cross Ambulance for helping bring this training to life!
