Happy Juneteenth! Today N.E.W. School of Innovation recognizes the significance of June 19, 1865, and celebrates the strength, culture, and contributions of Black Americans. Learning our shared history makes us stronger together.

The Green Bay Area Public School District recognizes the importance of Juneteenth, which commemorates the day in 1865 when enslaved people in Texas were the last to finally learn of their freedom.
In observance of this historic event, there will be no Summer School on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Session 1 of Summer School starts June 15, 2026! Here are a few reminders:
π Transportation may be provided for elementary and middle school students, using centralized pick-up spots.
π Breakfast and lunch are provided for all students attending Summer School.
π Students do not need to bring supplies; they are highly encouraged to bring a backpack.
Summer School Session 1 runs from June 15-July 10, 2026 (No classes June 19 or week of June 29-July 3, 2026) for Elementary students and from June 15-July 7, 2026 (No classes June 19 or July 3, 2026) for Middle & High School students.

Learning doesn't stop when school lets out. Neither does the need for good nutrition! This year's Summer Meals Program starts at community sites on June 10, 2026. Meals begin at summer school buildings on June 15, 2026. βοΈ
All children (not only GBAPS students) 18 years old and younger can receive free summer meals from GBAPS. Families do not have to qualify for free/reduced meals to participate.
