The website has been updated and the link is ACTIVE for the Pride Center - Joseph Ray Torres LGBTQIA2S+ Annual Scholarship. The scholarship will keep his memory alive so that students will know his story and hopefully be inspired to attain their educational dreams, reach for their passions and give back to their communities - just like Joe did. πŸ’œ
Scholarships can be found at the UW-Green Bay website. Scroll down page on website link below on UWGB Foundations page. Look in the drop-down menu for the Pride Center - Joseph Ray Torres LGBTQIA2S+ Annual Scholarship. It’s as simple as that. On June 6, 2026 our community lost one of our campus living legends. We are still trying to process it all. Joe Torres was a living legend but he didn’t see himself that way. One of the kindest, funniest and gentlest souls we ever knew. He will be forever missed and now his memory will live on. The UW-Green Bay Pride Center is proud to officially announce the Pride Center - Joseph Ray Torres LGBTQIA2S+ Annual Scholarship. Students will now learn about the life, legacy and impact of Joseph Ray Torres. We hope they will be inspired to reach for their dreams and give back to the community just like Joe did. The Pride Center is beyond proud to honor Joe in this way. πŸ’œπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ’œπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈπŸ’œ Thank you Joe for everything. https://news.uwgb.edu/phlash/news/06/18/honoring-the-legacy-of-joseph-ray-torres-at-uw-green-bay/
