December 5: Nestorations, nestbowls, perching, fly-ins, faces, and sub-adult would-be breakfish thieves! Thanks to our forum members for the magnificent moments!
Pictures of the Decorah Eagles in 2019. Our ads-free Decorah Eagle stream can be watched live at https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/decorah-eagles/ or https://explore.org/livecams/bald-eagles/decorah-eagles. The Decorah Eagles nest is located in Decorah in a patch of woods to the east side of the Siewers Spring road bridge near the trout hatchery. Since we've been watching, the eagles have produced a total of 33 eaglets. In general, they lay eggs in mid-February. The eggs hatch in late March to early April and the eaglets stay in the nest for 75-80 days, fledging in mid-June. N2B is the fourth nest on this territory. It was started for the eagles by a team of humans in August 2015 and Mom and Dad adopted it in October of 2015. Dad disappeared in April of 2018 and DM2 showed up later that year. The current eagles are Mom (the second female on the territory) and DM2 (the second male on the territory).
