Friday Faith Focus: A Legacy of Faith

This week in chapel, our students learned about the Old Testament prophets Elijah and Elisha. Their stories remind us that God is powerful and faithful—and that He calls His people to trust Him, obey His Word, and courageously follow wherever He leads.

We also saw a beautiful picture of discipleship in the relationship between Elijah and Elisha. Elijah faithfully served God and helped prepare Elisha to continue the work after him. Elisha then carried that legacy forward, trusting God to equip him for his own calling.

That connects so closely with our mission at GCA. We desire to be Bible-based, Christ-centered, and discipleship-driven as we help students grow into Legacy Makers who walk faithfully with Christ and encourage others to do the same.

Please join us in praying that our students will know God’s Word, recognize His faithfulness, and boldly follow Him each day.

Servant spotted!

One of our students noticed a classroom needed vacuuming and took the initiative to help. He wasn't looking for recognition or a reward - he saw a need and served. Mrs. DeYarman happened to notice and surprised him with 1,000 DeYarman dollars. The surprise was fun, but what's special is that the kindness came first. That's the kind of heart we love to see growing at GCA: students learning to serve others out of love, following the example of Jesus, who 'came not to be served but to serve' -Mark 10:45

May we follow this student's example and notice the needs around us, looking for little ways to serve, even when no one is watching.

Bible Digs are a beautiful picture of GCA’s mission in action: Bible-based, Christ-centered, and discipleship-driven.

Students of different ages gather around God’s Word, read together, and work through thoughtful questions. As they learn from Scripture and from one another, they’re growing in their understanding of what it means to walk with Christ. It’s also been wonderful to see our LMA working hard to grow as leaders and help guide these groups.

We’re grateful for these moments of learning, encouragement, and growing together in Christ.

Wednesday Window: A Peek Inside Learning at GCA

Last week in Art class, students had the opportunity to help create our bulletin board for the Scripture memory verse for the year. Each student designed and illustrated several words, using their creativity to help bring the verse to life.
What made it especially sweet was seeing the teamwork involved. As they planned, colored, and created together, they were doing more than making a bulletin board, they were helping build something meaningful that will encourage our school community all year long.
We love these kinds of moments at GCA, where creativity, collaboration, and God’s Word come together in everyday learning.

Today we’re celebrating Mrs. Jensen!

Mrs. Jensen brings so much creativity, warmth, and joy to GCA. Through both music and art, she gives our students opportunities to discover and use the gifts God has given them—and she does it all with a heart for pointing them back to Him.

We love the way she weaves God’s Word naturally into her classes and encourages students of every age to create, worship, and grow in confidence.

From the artwork filling our halls to the music shared at concerts throughout the year, Mrs. Jensen adds something truly special to life at GCA.

Mrs. Jensen, thank you for sharing your gifts so generously with our students. We’re so thankful you’re part of the GCA family!
