Continuing with solo and ensemble videos from the festival held at Pulaski High School a few weeks ago, here is Even. This is the first year he was ready to perform a piano solo. He took part in solo and ensemble last year with saxophone, so he was familiar with the process. Getting the piano piece ready was a learning curve for Evan. He likes to play fast, and sometimes sacrifices accuracy. He received a superior (1) rating and is ready to work on a piece in class B which is the next level of difficulty for next year. Congratulations Evan!

Pulaski Solo and Ensemble was a few weeks ago. I had three students performing for this event. A class A classical vocal solo, class C classical vocal solo and class C piano solo. They all received superior (1) ratings! Congratulations students! The first video to be posted is of the youngest student to perform. Here is Nadia, she is in 6th grade and this is her first opportunity to perform for the solo and ensemble festival. She received a perfect score!! Way to go Nadia!
Here is Rheya, one of the most determined and motivated students I have. This is the 2nd year she has done a class A piano solo and she was determined to get a perfect score and a perfect score she received! On to the state festival she goes! Well done Rheya!
The 2nd performance of the day was my one and only senior in high school this year - Ozzie. She performed a musical theater piece and only had 3 weeks to work on it! (She waited until the last minute to decide if she was going to do solo and ensemble.) She performed very well and I’m so proud of how far she has come as a musician! Congratulations Ozzie!!
This past Saturday was weekend #2 of Solo and Ensemble for three of my students. Each one of them performed a class A piece and I’m so proud to say that they all received a “1” and two of them received a *1 which means they will perform again at the state festival! Way to go ladies! We will start with my youngest class A performer - Aashi. She is in 8th grade and sang a beautiful piece titled “For You There is no Song”. Please enjoy this wonderful performance.
Solo and Ensemble started last weekend for one of my students. This is Lydia, she has a beautiful voice and performed this class A piece, “Silent Noon”. She received the highest rating possible, a *1 which gives her the opportunity to perform again at the state level. Congratulations Lydia!
This young lady is getting all of us in the Christmas mood with a very difficult and fun arrangement of “Jingle Bells”! Come hear Ellison perform another Christmas classic, “Silent Night” at Lindy’s Lessons Christmas Recital Sunday, Dec. 14th at the Neville Museum. There will be two different recitals - 1:00 and 3:00.
I had been playing a duet with my student. His sister is singing the lyrics of the song. I needed to stand for a second. The cat immediately plopped onto the bench. I have this conversation every single day… 🤦🏻♀️😹
Just a sneak peek as to a small portion of what is being prepared for the annual Christmas recitals. This is mother and daughter (daughter is my student). They are working on the piano duet “Sleigh Ride”. This is the second time they have played together for me, (they practice at home everyday).
If you would like to see them in person, the recitals are: Sunday, December 14th, 1:00 and 3:00, Neville Museum. There is no charge to attend the recitals. The ladies will be performing at both recitals.
This young man just started lessons 3 weeks ago! He’s doing great! I love it when students are eager to learn and this one certainly is!
This sweet young lady came to me as a transfer student. She had a great start with her first teacher. She recently graduated into the Level 5 books and is doing very well. Here is Ellison playing “The Chase”.
