Student learning is our highest priority at Nicolet School. As a staff, we work together to make sure students are challenged and reach their full potential. Engaging learning is designed so that students use their creativity and problem solving skills. Students work in groups so they learn important collaborative skills. Technology is also a focus at our school. All of our third through fifth grade students have a mini-laptop on their desk all day long! In addition to student learning, parent involvement is important at Nicolet. We encourage parents to check their children’s backpacks every night and make sure that nightly reading and homework is completed. We meet with all of our families before the school year begins at Ready-Set-Go conferences and truly value the time spent getting to know the families we serve. Many family events are planned throughout the year including a Back-To-School Barbeque, Showcase of Learning, Vocabulary Word Parade, Special Person Breakfast, Seuss on the Loose and a Fall Festival. Connections are also important at Nicolet School. Students participate in team builders and class builders in order to establish positive relationships and a sense of team. Intermediate students at Nicolet have a chance to take part in Math Team, Theater Arts, Basketball, Art Club and the L.I.O.N.S. Club (Leaders In Our Neighborhood and School). Last year the fifth grade L.I.O.N.S. Club members donated $500.00 to help build a hospital in Africa! Nicolet is a warm, caring learning community. Stop in any time and visit.
