Aldo Leopold Community School Aldo Leopold Community School in Green Bay prepares students in grades K-8 to be critical thinkers.

Aldo Leopold Community School staff believe in fostering a school environment in which children work toward compassion, respect, equality and justice and where students are allowed to discover and explore their place in the world. The staff at ALCS provides instruction and guidance that focuses on the student’s needs and interests. All students, including those with special and gifted needs, are included in daily classroom instruction. Teaching methodology and classroom structure incorporate democratic practice, ensuring that students learn to solve problems together through discussion, collaboration and innovation. Learning together and from one another is an essential part of this philosophy. Students and staff regularly assume the roles of both teacher and learner in a non-competitive environment which fosters respect, acceptance, and care. Aldo Leopold Community School believes in raising children in the company of adults. Partnering with community, family, and student volunteers makes this possible. Developing caring relationships with adults other than their parents will help them know they are a vital part of this school and the Green Bay community at large. Within these partnerships the students often design and implement service learning projects that become a path for them to further their connections with the community. Our students and families see school as a challenging and fun part of life. They know that learning is active and messy and that failure is a part of success. They view our community as an extension of the classroom and volunteers as valuable resources. Student voice and shared decision making are integral to our school. Aldo Leopold Community School families are active in their children’s learning and understand that when they share their gifts and become part of our learning community, everyone benefits.

The Green Bay Area Public School District is set to host the following meetings regarding the 2026-27 budget:
🔵 October 12, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. – Board of Education Work Session. The budget will be presented by Chief Financial Officer Angie Roble.
🔵 October 26, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. – Public Hearing. Immediately after the hearing, the Board of Education will hold their regular board meeting, at which they will hold a vote on the budget and tax levy.

Community members can provide input to the Board of Education regarding the budget by speaking at the Public Hearing on October 26, 2026. If members of the public have questions about speaking before the Board of Education, please see information regarding speaking at public meetings: https://bit.ly/47y5JoN
