Earlier this afternoon, our campus public address system was unintentionally activated during a scheduled contractor-led upgrade to UW-Green Bay’s fire system, resulting in a false active threat alarm.
You are safe to be on campus and continue working this afternoon.

Urgent Notice:
Shortly before 3pm today while contractors were conducting a planned system update, an error occurred which activated an emergency message which is integrated into our fire alarm speakers on the Green Bay campus. There is NO KNOWN THREAT at this time related to that message and we understand its nature caused alarm. We are working through this issue and what caused it.

If anyone is the UWGB area is missing a rooster, please contact the UW-Green Bay Police Department at 920-465-2300. The rooster has been contained and will be taken to the Humane Society on Tuesday.

ROAD CLOSURE 05.02.2026 (Temp. for Event Security)
To enhance the safety of the Walk To Mary event passing through campus, there will partial closure of S. Circle Drive between Wood Hall Drive and E Circle Drive. There will also be a closure of Leon Bond Drive between S. Circle Dr and Bay Settlement Road. The closure will start when the participants are nearing campus and will end when they have safely passed through. If you are attending events at the Kress Events Center or the UW-Green Bay University Union please take note. If entering campus from Nicolet Drive, you will be detoured to Wood Hall Drive to Technology Way to Laboratory Sciences Drive.
Anticipated closure start is 10:30AM, and will last for 3-4 Hours.

Storms have started to develop in southwest Wisconsin as of 3:30 PM. These are expected to grow in intensity and coverage over the next few hours (red bubble). Area of storms will initial move and expand to the northeast, but will then track more easterly. Stay aware of the weather this afternoon and evening.

Road crews have worked hard to clear the roads for the last 48+ hours. Please make sure you clear off your vehicles completely before you drive. Excessive snow build up can be considered part of your load.

No person shall operate a vehicle on a highway unless such vehicle is so constructed and loaded as to prevent its contents from dropping, sifting, leaking or otherwise escaping therefrom.

Just stay where you are.
There are very little to zero reasons to be out driving right now. Plows and all emergency vehicles are struggling to get around so finding your stuck car and getting you to shelter could literally take hours. Again, just stay put until the roadways improve.
