Bayshore Arts Center, located on the UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus announces Theatre on the Bay’s production of The Music Man – Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy. The Music Man is a classic, family-friendly story that has been entertaining audiences since 1957. The Music Man takes the stage July 17-26, 2026, for six public performances.

"The Music Man" follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys' band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn't know a trombone from a treble clef! Directed by Robby McGhee. Music Direction by Brittany Welch Pilz. Production Support by Brittney Koerner Wrench. Choreography by Heather Olsen. This fall, UW-Green Bay Professional Education is offering a new three-part webinar series, The Evolution of American Football, presented by Mark Murphy.

Dates (Tuesdays): September 8, October 13, & November 10
Time: 12:00–1:00 PM
Format: Webinar (on Zoom)
Cost: $119

This three-part virtual series will explore the historical development and cultural significance of football in America—from the roots of college football to the early days of the NFL, to the modern professional game as we know it today. Mark Murphy will guide participants through the evolution of the sport, examining changes in rules, player development, league structure, media influence, and the broader social impact of football. Each session will stand alone while also building upon the previous one, creating a cohesive and engaging learning experience.

The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) at UW-Green Bay is marking its 35th anniversary with a special event introducing the 2026-2027 lineup that reflects both the strength and growth of one of Wisconsin’s largest programs of its kind.

UW-Green Bay Mourns the Loss of Dorothea (Thea) Sager

UW-Green Bay honors the life and legacy of Dorothea (Thea) Sager, whose career stands as a testament to the University’s founding spirit and its belief that education ignites growth. A pioneering faculty member whose career helped shape UWGB’s interdisciplinary, problem-focused mission across more than two decades, Sager exemplified what it means to be a Phoenix—through courageous leadership, student-centered teaching and tireless service to the University and community. From teaching and research to shared governance and community engagement, Sager helped UWGB rise into the institution it is today.
