Bullying one way or another has touched us all. Over the past 6 years I have listened to countless gut wrenching story's told to me by kids and parents who had little hope and faith left in their peers and administrators. These story's gave me goosebumps, made me angry and sometimes tears would well up. Experiences like these made me extremely passionate about trying to lift the spirits of these kids and renew their faith in fellow students, through the My Safe Schools program.
On some levels I felt we did succeed. Feedback from schools, administrator, teachers, parents and students was positive. These folks in the "trenches" worked the program and it worked for them. Working the My Safe Schools program Educators and students took accountability for their schools and through clear metrics positive changes could be measured.
Today I'm sad to say My Safe Schools will close for good.
