We are saddened to share the passing of Dr. Dorothea “Thea” Sitz Binhammer Sager, a cherished member of the UW‑Green Bay community and an emeriti faculty member of the Center for the Study of Environmental Toxicology (CSET) and Human Biology.

Thea joined UW‑Green Bay in 1970 and quickly became a foundational voice in environmental health research. Her groundbreaking work on the effects of PCBs on reproduction earned national recognition and competitive grant support, helping shape the university’s early identity as a leader in environmental inquiry. She retired in 1997 as a full professor, leaving behind a legacy of scientific rigor, mentorship, and deep commitment to student learning. Her impact on UW‑Green Bay will continue to inspire future generations.

A huge thank‑you to The Foth Companies for hosting an incredible UW‑Green Bay Engineers Day event for our Resch School of Engineering students and faculty.

The day offered an outstanding look into real‑world engineering practice. Students began the morning at Foth’s Green Bay office with a presentation on “What Engineers and Designers Do at Foth,” featuring insights from teams across multiple business units and a preview of work happening at Lindquist Machine.

The experience continued with a guided walk‑through of their various labs and demonstrations showing how virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) support engineering and design processes. The day concluded with a visit to Lindquist Machine Company for a behind‑the‑scenes facility tour, including an exclusive look at their Serial 1 Lab.

We are grateful to Foth and for opening their doors, sharing their expertise, and investing in the next generation of engineers. Experiences like this help our students connect classroom learning with the innovative work happening across our region.

Thank you for Foth and Lindquist Machine for supporting UW‑Green Bay engineering!
