Dear Uterus,
You and I... we’ve been through some things.
You carried and delivered two beautiful children. You did what you were built to do — with some meds to help us along, a cheer squad behind us, and a whole lot of strength.
But let’s not pretend it’s always been this smooth between us.
Because if I’m honest… you’ve caused me more pain than almost anything else in my life.
Since my teens, it’s been a battle.
The kind of pain that steals your breath.
Cramps that rival contractions.
Moments where I’d lie there thinking: Is this normal?
But everyone told me it was. “Just part of being a woman.”
So I swallowed it. Minimized it. Brushed it off like I was supposed to.
And then there were the hormones…
Some days I feel like I’m riding an emotional rollercoaster without a seatbelt.
Highs, lows, and sharp turns no one warned me about.
Mood swings that leave my kids confused and my husband walking on eggshells.
Not because I’m unstable, but because my body is trying to function under a chemical storm I didn’t ask for.
So... maybe it’s time we part ways.
Maybe not completely. Maybe just... a soft goodbye.
But something needs to change. Because this can’t be the standard I continue to live with.
You’ve done your job.
You’ve brought life.
You’ve endured.
But now, I choose relief. I choose stability. I choose myself.
And if you’re reading this — and you’ve felt the same — just know:
You’re not dramatic.
You’re not weak.
You’re not alone.
We weren’t meant to suffer in silence.
So I’m done pretending I’m fine.
This is the first of many letters — because it’s time we talk about this out loud.

I remember when I got my first period…
I was too nervous to talk to anyone for two whole days.
Scared. Quiet. In pain.
(To be fair to my mom — I was at summer camp and neither of us saw it coming that week.)
But I felt so unprepared.
No supplies. No clue what a cycle actually meant.
And definitely no idea how I was supposed to feel about what was happening in my body.
Now that I’m a mom, I know one thing for sure:
