Maplewood Elementary School

Thank you to our wonderful community partner, Christ Community Church!

Last week, Maplewood Staff enjoyed a wonderful field trip around our school community. Our first stop was the International Bazaar, a local grocery store owned by a Maplewood family. They offer fresh produce, quality meats, seafood, spices, snacks, and specialty foods from South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and across the world.

Our next stop was the Immigrant & Refugee Center of Northern Colorado. We learned about all of the resources and classes offered to families, and ways that we can partner.

On our way back to Maplewood, we visited our neighborhood and each of our school's bus stops.

This was a great way to get out into our community!

Today at Maplewood, local author Michelle Schaub visited our kindergarten and second grade classes. She shared her books, "Leafy Landmarks," and "A Place for Pollinators," and engaged students in meaningful discussions and experiences connected to their classroom learning. Our scholars enjoyed making real-world connections through literature while exploring the important topics presented in her books.

We are so proud of our scholars who worked together to create this beautiful design!

Due to inclement weather, all Greeley-Evans School District 6 schools, including charter schools, will be CLOSED on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026.

All before and after-school activities, including sports practices and programs, will be canceled. All District 6 preschool programs will also be canceled.

We encourage all families to stay warm and take appropriate precautions during this time. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

This morning, Maplewood scholars celebrated their classmates participating in the Special Olympics with a send off parade!

Scholars lined the hallways to cheer on and celebrate athletes participating in today's Special Olympic events. Way to show that Mustang pride!

Tonight is Maplewood Culture Night!

Join us tonight from 5:30-7:00 pm to celebrate the amazing diversity at Maplewood! There will be snacks and games from around the world and unique prizes! Dinner will be provided. We encourage you to wear clothing that represents your culture.
