Hi! My name is Derek LeFebre, and 1 am the Assistant Principal/ Athletic Director at James Madison STEAM Academy. This is my second year with JMSA and my twentieth year in education. I am very excited for our middle school athletic program, which includes Girls Volleyball, Boys Football, Cross Country, Girls/Boys Basketball, Wrestling, and Girls/Boys Soccer. I look forward to seeing everyone Monday!

Hi I’m Alyssa Luker and I am excited to be spending my 7th year as the 5th-8th grade counselor at JMSA! I love empowering students to navigate life's hurdles, but when I'm not consoling crying children at my day job, I'm out running, hiking, or getting SWOLE at the gym. I'm also a big women's soccer fan and try to watch or go to as many games as possible! Thank you all for welcoming me to the JMSA crew :)

My name is Mrs. Buchholz! This is my 7th year at Madison. I have been the Smart Lab teacher for the last two years, but this year I am returning to Fifth Grade to teach reading! I am so excited to work with my kiddos this year to become incredible readers ready for middle school. When I am not at school, you can find me spending time with my husband and two little boys or playing guitar (sometimes as a family!)

Hi my name is Laurie Holgerson and I have been teaching for more than 30 years! I have taught almost every grade and have landed in middle school, beacause they are my favorite!

I will be teaching 8th grade math for my 9th year, but 2nd year here in Greeley. Math has always been a love of mine and I enjoy sharing that passion. I have one son, Barry, that lives here in Greeley with his lovely wife Mikala. I have two dogs that are the the king and queen of my house, Jovi and Jasper. In my off time I love golfing, crafting and alone time.

My name is Ms. Ayard and I teach 5th grade Science and Social Studies. I have been at Madison for 4 years now and I have enjoyed every moment! This summer was spent watching A LOT of soccer, spending time with my family, and getting to see my son grow! I can’t wait to see everyone Monday! ✨

Hi I am Julie Olson, M.S. CCC-SLP
I have a master’s degree in Communication Disorders / Speech Language Pathology. I have been an educator for 34 years.
I am the Speech and Language Pathologist that serves grades 4th through 8th.
My students will experience building positive relationships while working toward their individual educational goals.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren, gardening, riding horses, and working on our ranch.

Hello, I am Robert "Coach" Samelson and I am the 8th Grade Science and Social Studies teacher here at JMSA. I am also the JV Football coach at Heath Middle School as well. This year will be my 2nd year here and 7th year teaching overall. Outside of my family, my biggest passions are history, football/sports, and hunting.

Hello hello! I am Tom Brickey MBA, M.Ed.! I teach 7th grade Math and I have been teaching 21 years and a great fact about me is that I have never stayed overnight in a hospital. I love to go camping in the mountains. When we travel, after about a week I miss the mountains and can't wait to get back here. We ride motorcycles and take an annual 5000 mile trip somewhere in North America. My daughters are married and gone so when we get to see them it is definitely special.
