‪TYPHOON KAMMURI has intensified dramatically on approach to the Philippines over the last few hours. Now it looks like a supercell has exploded just west of the eye on leading edge of dry air nosing in from north. Vicare the island of the howling wind is going to get hammered. It's possible the typhoon could continue moving just slightly south of west and make landfall just south of Naga City. Likely will have max sustained winds of up to 100 knots at landfall

Thank you to Reed Timmer Extreme Meteorologist for coming to speak to our UNC AMS Student Chapter! Our students and members of AMS were excited and loved being able to meet and talk with him. We had a great turnout and he even is representing our program with a sticker on his car! Hope to see him out on the plains this chase season!

Also, thank you to everyone who turned up and who helped us with the snacks and drinks. It wouldn't be UNC AMS without our amazing community driven members!

Hello UNC AMS! We have a very exciting announcement! Next Wednesday we will be having Reed Timmer Ph.D. give his presentation! We hope to see you all there and remember to show off UNC's MET Program!
