Our Sophomore Art Appreciation students have wrapped up their latest project and the results are incredible!

This semester, students are analyzing diverse cultural movements, mastering technical elements like line and texture, and applying those concepts to create original, powerful visual pieces.

We’re thrilled to announce Ms. Ryba’s Travel Night showcasing her 2027 tour to Ireland & Scotland and her 2028 tour to Italy & Greece and your student is invited! This life-changing experience will help students build confidence, independence, and global perspective. This past summer, I led over 30 students abroad to Spain, and the impact the tour had upon them was life changing.

ECA students are Aims students!

What a fun and busy week it has been watching our students settle into their roles as college students at Aims!

🧪 On Wednesday, our Chemistry students had their first lab at Aims! It was exciting to see them learning hands-on in a college lab.

🍂 Then, juniors and seniors were able to join the Fall In Festivities, where they connected with campus resources, learned about clubs and activities, and started finding their place in the Aims community.

📚 Today, our freshmen visited the Learning Commons to learn all about the library and the many resources available to help them be successful.

It’s been so rewarding to watch our students grow more comfortable on campus, make connections, and realize that Aims is their college, too!

Shout-out to Early College Academy 🎉

U.S. News & World Report ranks Early College Academy #2 among high schools in Weld County and #29 among high schools across Colorado, recognizing its commitment to student achievement and academic excellence!

Early College Academy is a public, D6 high school that gives students the opportunity to earn both a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts or Associates of Science degree from Aims Community College! This incredible opportunity boasts a 98% graduation rate, and is free!

ECA’s School Accountability Committee-SAC (our school parent-teacher organization) is looking for parents or guardians who would be willing to commit to four meetings throughout the school year to learn more about what’s going on at ECA and give us feedback.

This is a great opportunity to share your ideas and provide input on important decisions. It is open to anyone with a student at ECA, and will meet for approximately one hour from 5:00-6:00 pm on September 15, November 10th, February 2, and April 13.

We are also looking for a parent or guardian to represent ECA on the District Accountability Committee, which meets with Dr. Pilch and parents/guardians from around District 6 to provide similar input and feedback on the district level.

Picture Day is August 31st at ECA. Students should bring home a picture order form from Strawbridge Studios, Inc. with information on ordering school pictures.

GET Bus Route Changes

City of Greeley officials have determined they are unable to reinstate any eliminated Greeley Evans Transit (GET) bus stops, and the planned route and stop changes are still set to take effect on August 20th.

You can review the updated GET routes and schedules on the City of Greeley Transit Website. We appreciate our longstanding partnership with the City of Greeley, and they continue to provide essential transit services for our students.

While District 6 Transportation has added some routes, none of these additions impact 10th Street. What is most important for our students and families to know is that the GET pickup and drop-off spot has moved across 10th Street.

Because of this location change:

Students will now need to cross both 10th Street and 11th Street to get to and from the bus stop.

It is imperative that students use the designated crosswalk on 10th Street and exercise extreme caution when crossing 11th Street.

Please talk through this new walking route with your student to ensure they navigate these street crossings safely.

If your student’s commute has become significantly longer due to new transfers or elimination of service areas with GET, you can still sign up for D6 School Bus transportation. To register your student please call: 970-348-6820 and let them know your student attends ECA and would like to access D6 bussing. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we adapt to these transit changes together.
