Camp C.S. Klaus Scouting America Camp C.S. Klaus Camp C.S. Klaus is situated on a 200 acre wooded valley, located near Colesburg in the countryside of Northeastern Iowa.

The camp is home to a beautiful lake, 40 foot climbing tower, newly constructed COPE course, and trails for all ability levels. With its eight camp sites, platform tents, private showers, and beautiful dining hall, Camp Klaus provides a comfortable yet adventurous camping experience. Whether you're looking to earn merit badges, participate in high adventure-like experiences, or just relax in the o

utdoors, Camp Klaus has it all. Our program areas include Ecology, Handicraft, Field Sports, Aquatics, Arts, Leadership, & Communication, Tower & COPE, Sales & Management, and Scout Craft. Additionally, we offer fun activities during the afternoon and evening, such as our Ironman Competition, Water Follies, and Monday Night Games, that will keep you having fun all day and night.

🎖️ 895 Merit Badges Earned This Summer!

From first-time achievements to long-awaited accomplishments, Scouts at Camp C.S. Klaus spent the summer learning new skills, challenging themselves, and discovering new interests.

Together, they earned an incredible 895 merit badges across a wide variety of subjects—from Scouting Heritage and Basketry to Environmental Science, Archery, and even Artificial Intelligence.

Every merit badge represents dedication, growth, and a willingness to try something new. More than that, every badge tells a story of a Scout who was curious enough to learn, brave enough to try, and determined enough to succeed.
And while not every Scout completed every badge they started, every Scout who participated took home new knowledge, new experiences, and memories that will last far beyond the summer.

Whether earning a first badge, making progress toward a goal, or completing a long-awaited requirement, our Scouts continued to live out the values of the Scout Oath and Law throughout the summer.

Congratulations to all of our Scouts on their accomplishments this season—we are proud of each and every one of you!

With heavy hearts, we share that our beloved ecology snake, Maize, has passed away.

Maize joined our camp family in 2018 and spent the last eight summers helping campers discover and appreciate the amazing world of reptiles. We're grateful she was able to enjoy one final summer at camp doing what she loved.

She will be greatly missed by campers, staff, and everyone who had the chance to meet her.

This summer, our Sewing Test Lab has been one of the most popular spots at camp! 🧵✨
Campers have been eager to learn new skills, challenge themselves, and show off their creativity. From mastering basic stitches to completing sewing projects they can be proud of, it's been amazing to watch their confidence grow with every project.
We're so proud of all the campers who have stepped into the Sewing Test Lab, tried something new, and discovered a love for sewing. ❤️🪡
