Today WCSO detentions deputies conducted training at Platte Valley Fire District with their self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) to try and navigate an environment where it is difficult to see and breathe. The goal of this training is to find and rescue a simulated injured dummy. This real-life training prepares detentions deputies in case there were a fire in our jail and they would have to evacuate inmates. The second purpose of this training is to jumpstart rescue efforts so deputies don’t have to wait on the fire department to rescue any potentially injured inmates. Thank you to Platte Valley Fire Protection District for allowing us to use your facility.

Join us for Coffee with a Firefighter on Saturday, October 4th, at Cultivated Coffee! We love meeting our residents and supporting local businesses! This is a great opportunity for our Department to connect with our residents, or even let the kids check out the trucks. This event is from 10 AM to 11 AM and is weather permitting. We hope to see you there!
