More than a century of Wildcat athletics has given us plenty of history to celebrate, and we are proud to announce the 2026 Greeley High School/Greeley Central High School Athletics Hall of Fame Class!

This group becomes the fifth class inducted into the Wildcat Athletics Hall of Fame, honoring the athletes, teams, coaches, and contributors who have helped build the incredible athletic tradition of Greeley High and Greeley Central.

The reception will feature refreshments along with photographs and memorabilia celebrating our inductees. Following the Hall of Fame recognition, we’ll head into Baggot Gym, where the Class of 2026 will be introduced before the 6:30 p.m. boys basketball game against Northglenn. 🏀

And in the year we celebrate 100 years of the Castle, we can’t think of a better time to honor some of the Wildcats who helped create its history.

🎶 Music, culture, and community at the Castle! 🖤🧡
Greeley Central’s Latinx Music Club is featured in a new UNC story highlighting our partnership with UNC’s Latinx Music program!

The club gives Wildcats opportunities to explore and perform music from across Latin America while connecting with culture, community, and new musical traditions.

We are especially proud of Central student Sahian Longoria, who shared how the program has helped her reconnect with her culture and honor her father. ❤️

💀 **Putting a Face to the Evidence** 🔎
Our Forensic Science students are wrapping up their **Forensic Anthropology Unit** with a facial reconstruction activity!

Using what they’ve learned about skeletal remains and human anatomy, students are working to reconstruct facial features from the skull and see just how much information bones can reveal about a person.

Part science, part art, and just a little bit creepy. Basically, a perfect day in Forensic Science at the Castle. 💀🧬

🧡🖤 100 YEARS. ONE CASTLE. ONE EPIC STAFF PHOTO. 🖤🧡
Our fearless leader had to keep a pretty epic secret about why we DIDN’T take our traditional staff photo during the first week of school. Turns out, it was worth the wait.

With the help of several key people and groups throughout the Castle, our administration ordered old-school letter sweater cardigans reminiscent of generations past, complete with the classic orange G, a ’27 on the left sleeve, and a commemorative 1927–2027 patch on the right.

And that centennial patch? This will be the ONLY Greeley Central staff to ever wear it. 🥹

The tradition will keep growing as staff add bars and pins to their Gs representing years of service in teaching and coaching, honoring the people who have dedicated so much of their lives to generations of Wildcats.

So, nearly 100 years after the Castle opened its doors as Greeley High School, our 2026–2027 staff stepped out front in their letter sweaters and added another staff picture to a century of photos taken in front of this incredible building. 📸🏰

What an amazing way to honor the adults in the Castle, our history, and all those who came before us.

🎓🧡🖤 OUR JUNIORS ARE GETTING IN ON NATIONAL AVID DAY, TOO! 🖤🧡🎓
Our Junior AVID classes joined the celebration by taking some time to reflect on a pretty important question: Why AVID?

These Wildcats thought about why they chose to be part of AVID, what the program has already given them, and how it is helping prepare them for where they want to go next.

Sometimes it’s good to stop in the middle of all that planning, studying, goal-setting, and future-building to remember your WHY. 🧡

We love seeing our Wildcats recognize the value of this great program and the community they’ve built along the way!

Meet Greeley Central Social Studies teacher Michael Caro, who shared that the relationships he has built with coworkers and students are what keep him connected, supported, and invested in our school community.

🎓🧡🖤 CELEBRATING NATIONAL AVID DAY! 🖤🧡🎓
Today we’re celebrating National AVID Day with Paulson’s and Torrez’s AVID Seniors!

These Wildcats are putting in the work as they prepare for life after the Castle, tackling college and career planning, applications, scholarships, and all those BIG senior-year decisions.

National AVID Day is a chance to celebrate the students who are working toward their futures and the teachers who help them build the skills and confidence to get there.

🏰 TOWER TIME MACHINE CHRONICLES WITH ROHNKE
Destination: 1949
In honor of our assembly last week, the Tower Time Machine is putting a couple of faces to the names behind something generations of Wildcats know by heart: our fight song!

🎵 Earl J. Faulkner composed the music for the fight song we know today. He served as Greeley High School band director through the 1940s, 50s, and 60s, taking over for his uncle, Ronald Faulkner.

Ronald had written the music for an earlier fight song after a newspaper challenged Greeley High to replace its "On Wisconsin" adaptation: "When some ingenious soul with a talent for music is going to compose an original battle song for Greeley High School to supplant the much used 'On Wisconsin' adaptation."

Challenge accepted, Faulkner family.

✏️ Virginia Becker, Class of 1949, wrote the words to the fight song we know today. She was also a big-timer at GHS, participating in Student Council, GAA, Pep Club, band, orchestra, Thespian Troupe, Speech & Debate, and Swing Band!

Two outstanding Wildcats who left an indelible legacy. More than 75 years later, we're still singing their words and music at the Castle.

Congratulations to Chloe Alexander, who was named the Rotary Club Student of the Month and received a scholarship in recognition of this honor!
