Congratulations all around to everyone that performed in SJ’s recital, but most notably, our flute studio members!! Huge round of applause to SJ on an exciting composition recital! 🤩🤩

It’s recital week, and the performances keep coming! Tomorrow evening, Rachel and pianist Katie Hughes will perform an illuminating program including the works of Devienne, Hailstork, J.S. Bach, and Gaubert in the Campus Commons Rehearsal Hall at 6 PM.

Then, on Thursday evening, Bailee and pianist Dr. Christine Teng will perform her recital program which includes works by Sancan, Takemitsu, C.P.E. Bach, and Taktakishvili in Frasier 249 at 5 PM.

Congratulations to our professor, Dr. Hall, who shined (literally and figuratively) during his performance of the Mower Concerto! We are all so proud (especially Cole, see last slide)! Also huge congratulations on a wonderful concert to our Wind Ensemble flutes, who performed an exceptional concert. Check out Yixuan and Bailee on alto and bass flute! Congratulations to all! 💙💛🤩

Wanted more flute studio recitals? Well, you’re in luck! Mackenzie Hargis will perform their recital with pianist Dr. Christine Teng on Monday, April 13 at 5 PM! They will be performing works by Donizetti, Doppler, Debussy, and Martinů.

This Friday, our professor, Dr. Hall, will be performing the Mike Mower Flute Concerto with the UNC Wind Ensemble! Concert time is at 7:30 PM in the Campus Commons Performance Hall!

Congratulations to Bailee Thompson on her second prize win in the UNC concerto competition! Bailee will perform the Georges Hüe Fantaisie for Flute and Orchestra next year with the orchestra! We are so proud of you 💙💛
