Future Educator Honor Roll is a recognition from the Colorado Department of Higher Education that celebrates the stateās best and brightest teacher candidates ā up-and-coming outstanding educators early in their educational journeys.
This year, two UNC students and one brand-new grad are recognized for their early contributions to the field of teaching.
Trenna Jones: A Sport and Exercise Science major with an emphasis in K-12 Physical Education. To facilitate community involvement, she has both āinvited the community onto campus and met them where they are by volunteering for field days.ā
Marcus Robinson: A Psychology major with a minor in Special Education. āIāve often felt like thereās a gap in the relationship between counselors and students. Iāve had several friends who feel like theyāve been overlooked by the system and nobody was there to give them a helping hand or lend them an ear,ā Robinson said.
Savana Long, '26: A Theatre Education with a minor in Psychology. She plans to teach English at Greeley Central High School starting this fall. It was her own time at Greeley Central that inspired Savana to enter the field of education in the first place.

University Middle School students visited UNC to deliver a newscast they researched and wrote.
They researched four topics:
- Is Artificial Intelligence (AI) going to replace all jobs?
- Is the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) test worth studentsā stress?
- What will the plot be in the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie?
- And is everyoneās favorite squeezable fidget toy, the NEEDOH, too distracting for class?
UNC Journalism students volunteered their expertise!
