Meeker Elementary School needs YOUR help! They are requesting donations of gift cards (and new, unwrapped toys) for some of their families in need! You can drop them off at the school Monday-Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm until December 14! Please donate if you can! And please share this post as well!

On November 2nd, from 3:30-4:30 we are having a Coco-themed Day of the Dead Celebration. The purpose of the Cultural Family Outreach is to honor the culture of our families at Meeker. This is not Halloween, but rather a special time to remember ancestors. There will be music, nachos, and a few activities. Please come join us celebrate the Latin American culture represented here at Meeker. All events will be in the cafeteria.

Here is the welcome letter that we sent out to our email list. If we missed you or you would like to be added, please let us know!

Hello Meeker Parents and Teachers!
Welcome to the MSA mailing list! We are so excited to have you! We will have 3 sections for
you today. First, what MSA is; second, who can be part of MSA; third, how we will communicate with you.

1. What is MSA?
• We're a parent-led organization that works together with teachers and school staff to
improve our students' experiences at Meeker.
• We do this by:
• Providing funding for things like the Leader in Me and Watch Dogs programs, and
instruments for the music program
• Appreciating and supporting our teachers, with things like food at Parent/Teacher
conferences
• Providing volunteer support in the school, like on Picture Day / Hearing and Vision
screenings
• Other ways yet to be imagined!

2. Who is MSA?
• MSA is a combination of parents and teachers that work together to serve the staff and
students of Meeker Elementary. Any one may join! Just remember that to volunteer you must
be a registered volunteer with District 6!!
• MSA currently has two board members, Rebekah Billings and Olivia Myers…

Rebekah grew up in Fort Collins, CO and used to be a public school teacher. She still misses the classroom but is thankful that she gets the opportunity to stay home with her kiddos and be a part of the Meeker family through MSA. She has two more at home in addition to the two at Meeker.

Olivia was born and raised outside of La Salle, CO and works
as a Children’s Ministry Director while wrangling her own
kiddos. She has one at Meeker, two at home and one on the way.

• There is a spot for every one in MSA. Your involvement can be anything from being a board
member to just dropping off a box of cookies for parent/teacher conferences (hint, hint…
look for that coming to your inbox soon!)

3. MSA Email List Basics
• We will use email to communicate to you the needs that MSA is filling for Meeker. This could
include fundraisers, picture day, parent/teacher conferences, etc. If a teacher or staff
member makes a request we will put it out to you all and you can pick and choose what works
best for you.
• Most requests will come from this email with a link to Signup Genius.

Thank you again for being a part of the MSA team! If you have any other questions feel free to reach
out to us through email or just say hey if you see us during pickup or drop-off.
