Students had the chance to get hands-on in the kitchen with David Gutierrez from the Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment, learning how to create a delicious, balanced breakfast burrito or bowl!

This experience is made possible through a partnership between TRIO/Center for Human Enrichment () at Aims Community College and the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). Students are building real-life skills around healthy eating, meal preparation, and making nutritious choices on a budget.

In collaboration with Student Life, TRIO students celebrated Earth Day by creating space for connection, creativity, and care for our planet and each other. Students learned the ins and outs of composting with Geoff from Common Good Compost, got creative with painting and bracelet making, shared kindness through written affirmations, and enjoyed a well-earned root beer float along the way.

To leave a lasting impact, we also planted three trees right here on campus—rooting this day in something that will continue to grow for years to come. We appreciate the help from our Facilities & Operations team. 🌳💚
