NHS Grizzlies Baseball

Our season came to an end today with an 11-5 loss to D' Evelyn. We finished it with an overall record of 14-10 (after a 2-6 start) and a 3rd place finish in the Longs Peak League. Thank you to all of the players and coaches who gave so much this season.

A special thanks to our seniors, Colin Gilley, Izaiah Shepherd, and Eryk Childers for setting the bar for our program for the future. To all of our underclassmen, this is just the beginning. The future is bright for Grizz baseball!

Your Grizz are headed to the playoffs! Our first game will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday in Rifle vs D'Evelyn. Excited to see this team take it to the next level in the post-season!

Your Grizz wrap up the regular season with a 12-4 W over Berthoud tonight in 9 innings! The Grizz finish the regular season with a 14-9 record overall and a 12-6 record (3rd place finish) in the extremely competitive Longs Peak League.

Parker Steckel was dominant on the mound tonight tossing 7 innings and not allowing an earned run. Lincoln Lyons picked up the W with two strong innings out of the bullpen.

Offensively, Jace Reid lead the way with 3 hits including a double and 3 RBI. Izaiah Shepherd contributed 2 hits, a double, and 3 RBI, as well. Cooper Rose had 2 RBI and Steckel and Gannon McGeen each chipped in with an RBI, as well.

The Grizz will find out regional opponents, times and location on Wednesday. Congrats on a great regular season Grizz, it's playoff time!

Offensively, Gannon McGeen hit a triple and Izaiah Shepherd and Mark Felix-Llamas each hit a double. Cooper Rose also contributed an RBI.

On the mound, senior Colin Gilley was fantastic throwing 5 strong innings. Jace Reid picked up the W with a perfect 7th with 3 Ks.

It was also a great day to honor our three seniors; Shepherd, Gilley, and Eryk Childers!

Last regular season of the game is on Monday at 4:30 in Berthoud.

Huge bounce-back win for your Grizz tonight as they beat Mountain View 16-4!

Offensively the Grizz collected 13 hits and were lead by Jace Reid (3-5, 2 3B, RBI), Gannon McGeen (3-3, 3B, 3 RBI), Mark Felix-Llamas (1-4, HR, 3 RBI), Cooper Rose (2-5, 2B, 2 RBI), Parker Steckel (2-2, 2B, HR, 3 RBI), and Louie Pisano (2 RBI).

On the mound, McGeen picked up the W allowing 2 ER over 4 innings and striking out 9. Lincoln Lyons pitched the final 2 innings and didn't allow a run.

Next up is Senior Day on Saturday at 10:30 against Berthoud. Go Grizz!

Your Grizz drop a tough one to Mountain View 9-5 tonight. After falling behind 7-0 after the 1st, we battled back to make it a game.

Offensively, Jace Reid lead the team with 2 hits and 2 RBI. Gannon McGeen, Cooper Rose, and Colin Gilley each had an RBI, with McGeen and Gilley each collecting a double, as well.

Proud of the grit this team showed tonight, back to work tomorrow!

Your Grizz improve to 11-8 with a 7-5 over crosstown rival Greeley West today!

In his first start of the year, Colin Gilley threw 4 spectacular innings giving up one earned run. Izaiah Shepherd picked up his first W of the season and Brendan Peterson and Jace Reid closed it out.

Offensively, Parker Steckel had a bases clearing double in the 6th to lead the team with 3 RBI. Mark Felix-Llamas contributed two doubles and Cooper Rose also hit a double. Shepherd and Louie Pisano each chipped in with an RBI, as well!

Next up is Mountain View at home on Tuesday in a huge league matchup. Great day to be a Grizz!

Your Grizz improve to 10-8 (9-5 in Longs Peak play) with a 12-11 win over Frederick tonight!

Jace Reid, Gannon McGeen, Dylan Hubbard, and Izaiah Shepherd all had multi-hit games and Mark Felix-Llamas, Hubbard, and Shepherd each had 2 RBI, as well. Shepherd also hit two monster triples to help lead the offense!

McGeen picked up his second W of the season by throwing three quality innings and striking out five.

Your Grizz improve to 9-8 (8-5 in league play) on the season with a 12-2 W over Frederick tonight!

Parker Steckel picked up his 5th win of the season throwing all 5 and scattering 7 hits.

Offensively, Jace Reid lead the way with a single, double, triple and 3 RBI. Gannon McGeen, Cooper Rose, and Steckel each had 2 RBI as well to lead the balanced attack.

Colin Gilley made the defensive play of the night catching a fly ball on his knees after slipping and falling twice getting to the baseball!

Your Grizz fall 6-3 to Roosevelt tonight. Offensively, the Grizz out-hit Roosevelt 10-6 but couldn't come up with a timely hit and stranded 11 baserunners. Colin Gilley finished with 3 hits and Jace Reid chipped in with 2 hits. Brendan Peterson lead the team with 2 RBI.

Parker Steckel picked up the W with 5 strong innings on the mound, including 7 K's. Coby Bevins pitched the last two innings to pick up the save.

Offensively, Colin Gilley and Louie Pisano had two hits a piece while Gilley and Jace Reid each drove in 2 runs.

The Grizz also played their first clean defensive game of the season and didn't commit an error!
