✈️🔥 Delta Air Lines is accelerating pilot hiring in a BIG way — and 2026 could become one of the airline’s largest recruitment years ever.

Figures published by the Delta Master Executive Council, which represents the carrier’s pilots, project an impressive 2,168 new pilot hires by the end of the year.

That would be more than THREE TIMES the roughly 600 pilots Delta hired throughout 2025, when recruitment slowed sharply across the U.S. airline industry. 🇺🇸

And the hiring surge is already well underway. The union’s latest published figures show 1,306 pilots have joined Delta during 2026, pushing its seniority list beyond 18,200 pilots.

But there’s an important catch: this doesn’t mean newly qualified pilots can simply move straight into a Delta cockpit. Recent classes have included experienced aviators coming from regional airlines, cargo carriers, corporate aviation and the military.

After one of the quietest hiring years since the pandemic, recruitment at one of America’s largest airlines is accelerating again — and the numbers are significant. 👨‍✈️📈✈️
