In advance of their trip to Poland, Germany and Israel, seniors spoke with Mrs. Cywiak, a Holocaust survivor who at the age of 98 still recalls in great detail her life before and during the war. She grew up in Lodz Poland, survived the ghetto, Auschwitz, Bergen Belsen, three subsequent concentration camps, and the death march. During our trip our students will visit and clean her mother’s grave in the Łódź ghetto and walk some of the same steps she did as a child. We thank Mrs. Cywiak for sharing her experiences with us and we will take those memories with with us to Poland to enhance our experience.

Packed house today as the Lion’s Den was on full display at Open Campus Day. From our experiential classrooms to our student speakers and our enormous co-curricular and academic fair, we had an amazing day showcasing our NSHA pride for our prospective families. Applications are open for 2023-24 and we can’t wait to meet our next 🦁’s! 💚 💛

This week we packed 200 bags with hats, gloves, hot cocoa, coffee, and tea packets which will be donated through the JCC for their MLK initiative where they are distributing food and other items to local food pantries. Thank you to the Elishayav family for sponsoring this special Chesed program

Our Biology students learned the basics of microcopy: parts/functions of the compound light microscope, how to focus specimens, how to calculate total magnification power, how to create wet-mount slides, how to measure field of view and specimen size. 🔬 🧫 🧪
