🤎🎾 SOMEONE, PLEASE FALL IN LOVE WITH JUNIPER. 🎾🤎
Because we already have.

Juniper has been with us for eight months this time, and if you asked the people who know her what makes her special, you would probably get a dozen answers.

She is approximately 4 years old, big, beautiful, and the most gorgeous milk-chocolate color.

She is a fetch fanatic. 🎾
Not a casual “I suppose I’ll chase that ball” kind of dog.
Juniper LIGHTS UP when the tennis ball comes out. Her whole face changes. She runs, she chases, she plays, and for those moments you get to watch this big, beautiful girl experience pure, uncomplicated joy.

She is also a fantastic walking buddy. She loves getting out, exploring, and joining her people for an adventure.

And once Juniper decides you are one of her people?
That is when you really understand why we love her so much.
She can be a little reserved when meeting someone new, but give her a little time and the dog underneath starts peeking through. Loyal. Silly. Playful. Sweet. The kind of dog you find yourself talking about when you get home from work.

The kind you root for.
The kind you love.

Juniper does come with a couple of instructions in her owner’s manual. She should be the only dog in her home, and she has allergies that are currently doing very well with medication and the right diet. Her future family will simply need to keep up with that care and continue working with their veterinarian.

That’s it.

Because those things are part of Juniper.
They are not who Juniper is.

Juniper is tennis balls flying through the air.
She is long walks with someone she trusts.
She is that beautiful chocolate face looking up at you.
She is a dog who has spent eight months being loved by an entire shelter full of people when what she really deserves is to be loved by a family of her own.

We adore her here.
But no matter how many walks we take, how many tennis balls we throw, or how much love we give her...
this is still a shelter. It isn’t home.

Juniper has been waiting long enough.
Come meet her
And maybe bring a tennis ball.

💌 A Love Letter from Juniper

Dear Future Person,

I don’t know your name yet, but I’ve been hoping you might come along.

I should probably tell you that I can be a little shy when we first meet. My heart doesn’t open all at once—but if you give me some patience and kindness, I promise there’s a whole lot of love waiting inside.

I’m 73 pounds of milk-chocolate-and-white sweetness, and my love language is definitely tennis balls. You throw, I chase, and just like that, we’re on our way to becoming best friends. I’m not much for long romantic walks, but give me a good game of fetch and a place beside you, and I’ll be perfectly happy.

I’d really like to be your one and only dog. I can politely pass other dogs while I’m out and about, but home is where I want to feel safe, relaxed, and secure—and I’d prefer not to share it with another pup.

I also have some ongoing allergies. Right now, they’re managed with medication and a controlled diet, but I’ll need someone willing to keep working with a veterinarian to help me feel my best.

I may not be the easiest love story, but I think I could be a pretty wonderful one. If you have a patient heart, a good throwing arm, and room in your life for a loyal girl like me, maybe you’re the person I’ve been waiting for.

Our Pet Memorial Tree is a special way for community members to honor the pets who have left paw prints on our hearts. 🌈🐾

Visitors are invited to stop by the City of Great Falls Animal Shelter during regular shelter hours to write the name of a beloved pet on a rainbow memorial tag and place it on the tree in their honor. Each tag represents a life remembered, a bond cherished, and a companion who will never be forgotten.

The community is also invited to join us for a Community Remembrance Gathering in recognition of World Pet Memorial Day.
