This Saturday, 12-6pm, visit us at Festival Latino of the Berkshires in Great Barrington! Experience a day filled with vibrant music, dance, and performances that will transport you to the heart of Latin America. Flying Cloud will present a fun art and science activity for the whole family.

We are so grateful that Sarah and the Snapdragon Chemistry, Inc. team could join us for another spectacular session of (colorful!) chemistry with our STEM Summer participants. One girl exclaimed, "Normally I like to take notes, but Snapdragon was TOO COOL to take notes and I was too busy doing super awesome things." Thank you for your dedication to the next generation of women scientists!

Thank you to Stephanie and Mame of Greylock Federal Credit Union for once again sharing their time and talents to empower young female scientists through financial literacy! Their workshop in our STEM Summer program was among the most popular sessions that girls wanted to present to their families at the concluding showcase. One participants was even inspired to write a poem, "The Money Bunny," to express her newfound interest in financial wellness!

🐢💚 A heartfelt thank you to Tracy Zustra from Berkshire County Turtle Rescue Inc. for volunteering in Flying Cloud's STEM Summer program! She shared stories, fascinating facts and terrific turtles with the young scientists, leaving them with wonder, joy, and a sense of stewardship for the natural world. A participant drew this sketch of one of the turtles!

Thank you so much to STEM Summer volunteers Kerry Bartini and Paige Wheeler of Berkshire Design, Inc.! They presented on animal architects, opened our minds to what architecture can be, and inspired future dreams! Margaret, a longtime participant, was able to bring a long-held aquarium idea to life, and said proudly, "You are seeing exactly what Nature would create in a safe and controlled environment." Thank you for sharing your time, projects and process so generously -- and genuinely -- with the next generation!

Volunteers are the heart of the success of Flying Cloud's STEM Summer program. Female STEM professionals, like Hiroka Warren of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, share their expertise and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders. This year, she taught participants about the structure of comets and then led an activity for them to make their own comet. So many girls expressed interest in astrophysics during the week and we can't help but think of it as "The Hiroka Effect." Thank you, Hiroka!

Thank you to the Crane Fund for Widows & Children for supporting Flying Cloud's Young Women in Science STEM Summer program! This program gives young women the opportunity to explore real-world science, engineering, technology, and math alongside women professionals working in STEM fields. Crane Currency's support enables us to prioritize underserved youth from Pittsfield, creating access to high-quality STEM learning and future career pathways!
