Russell Johnson alumni of KCU passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026. He was 70 years old. He and Babs, his wife lived in Canal Wi******er. Russell was an alumni of KCU, a Trustee for KCU and employed at KCU. He had a wonderful love for the school.

He was the Executive Director of Christ Reaching Asia Mission. He also served as VP for Leadership Development for Hippo Valley Christian Mission and Central Africa Christian Mission.

He was former Regional VP at The Solomon Foundation, former Director of Leadership Development with ICOM and he was former minister at Fairfield Christian Church, Lancaster, OH.

He lived an incredible life serving Jesus.

"Russell contacted me shortly after I was hired in 2019 and was a constant encourager until his recent health battles. I'm pretty sure that we never had a conversation that did not involve the two of us talking about how to get more people trained for ministry. I often speak with people who credit Russell for coming to KCU or for being the first person to challenge them to consider ministry. A warrior went home to be with the Lord on Saturday." -President Terry Allcorn
