Beethoven’s Death Mask.

The Greatest Composer of all time Ludwig van Beethoven has died on this date in 1827.

The last piece he composed is String Quartet in F Major, Op. 135, composed in 1826. Beethoven's last recorded words, spoken on his deathbed in 1827, were "Pity, pity – too late!" after being told of a gift of wine from his publisher.
