Last evening, the 4th semester students and Professors Mary S. and Cindy M. returned from their long weekend in Cookeville, TN. An update from the previous post....in two days, the CLC nursing students along with other dental and nursing programs provided free dental and medical care for 966 patients which translated to $554,552 in medical and dental expenses covered! The CLC nursing students would greet registered patients, take health histories, and vital signs, along with providing flu immunizations and blood pressure re-checks. Also, our CLC nursing students would go in and assist the dentists by suctioning, providing tools, and cleaning and set up for patients. It was a great learning experience for all. Thank you to everyone who helped with fundraising or donated in order to fund this trip and the RAM trip in February too.

Today the 4th semester students along with Professors Mary S. and Cindy M. worked at RAM in Cookeville, Tennessee. CLC Nursing students along with other dental schools and nursing programs served 671 patients which was $385,183 in medical and dental services....so far. Let's see what Sunday brings.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our community service project. We created 9 complete "comfort baskets", 7 full kids' bags, and had a great deal of extra donations! We delivered the baskets and extra socks, washcloths, toiletries, and snacks to A Safe Place this past Monday. Their volunteer coordinator was so grateful and appreciative! Even though we are getting ready to graduate, Prof. Mary B. and the coordinator stated they will keep this project going each semester! Thank you again!
