Are your Sizing-Dies scratching your cases?

Here are a few pictures of what these scratches look like. Scratches can be found on the neck or base or both. Here’s how to eliminate these scratches. A few simple tools are needed: See next photo.
A piece of Scotch Bright cut into a small strip. A proper caliber bronze brush. A good metal polish (M.A.A.S or equivalent) Electric drill or drill press.
The process is simple, remove the decap rod from your die and set aside, cut a small strip of Scotch Bright and place around the bronze bore brush, coat the strip with metal polish. Chuck the brush into the drill press or power drill. Turn the die upside down and insert the brush. Polish the inside of the die, pay particular attention to the areas causing the scratches. Reapply polish and repeat as needed. To eliminate neck scratches, turn the die right-side-up and insert the brush into the top and push in util you feel it enter the neck area of the die. Allow the brush to spin for a minute of two.
Once polishing is complete, flush the die with Hoppe’s or other cleaner to remove all remaining polish. Dry thoroughly inside and out. Now – no more scratches, until you need to do this again… someday..

Happy Holidays to all our followers, students, graduates and clients!

Another Great Class completed yesterday. Our students were able to load their first 223 and 9mm cartridges. Wednesday this week our Intermediate clients are loading 6mm Creedmoor with high level precision in mind.

Last month an Intermediate student completed his latest 22-250 batch resulting in a .014 inch 3 shot group in real world conditions.

New classes for 2026 will be on the website soon. Our two locations will offer Basic (NRA Introduction to Metallic Cartridge Reloading), Intermediate (Precision Rifle), and Advanced (High Precision Long Range Reloading) classes.
