Jacqueline Johnson came to College of Lake County as a first-generation college student looking for an affordable path forward. She leaves CLC as a confident leader with a full-ride scholarship to Southern Illinois University. 💚💙

During her time at CLC, Jacqueline stepped outside her comfort zone, became involved in student life, served as vice president of Phi Theta Kappa and gained hands-on experience through an internship with Congressman Brad Schneider.

Her experience at CLC helped her find a community, build confidence and discover a path toward her goals. Now, she's preparing to pursue her bachelor's degree at SIU, with plans to attend law school.

🎉 Lance's Block Party was a blast! 💚💙

Students kicked off the semester with boba, bumper cars, games and plenty of opportunities to connect with student clubs and organizations.

Couldn't make it to the Block Party? No worries! There are plenty of ways to get involved at College of Lake County. Joining a student club or organization is a great way to meet new people, explore your interests and build your CLC community.

From CLC Scholar to Northwestern graduate, and now back to CLC. 🎓

For Anastasia Gustafson, CLC was more than an affordable way to earn a college education. The Scholars Program gave her opportunities to develop as a writer, build real-world skills and create the work that ultimately helped her get into Northwestern University.

Now, she's coming back to CLC to teach the next generation of Lancers.

“I’m working on writing my first novel right now, but actually it was in CLC's creative writing class that I composed the novel that I used to apply to Northwestern University.”

We're proud to welcome Anastasia back home. 💙

Update on CLC's presidential search

Thank you to the more than 200 students, faculty, staff, community members and business partners who participated in Friday's presidential search forums. We have also received nearly 200 responses to the community survey, which remains open through 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24.

To allow additional time to review and synthesize the feedback received, the initial Presidential Search Committee meeting scheduled for Monday, Aug. 24, has been postponed.

Dr. Keith Miller, CLC's ACCT consultant, will provide an update on the search process at the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at 5 p.m.

Any updates to the search timeline will be communicated as information becomes available.

📣 CLC is seeking community input as we shape the profile for our next president.

As College of Lake County begins its search for its next president, we’re inviting students, employees, community members and other stakeholders to share what qualities, characteristics and leadership priorities are important for CLC’s next leader.

Public forums will be held Friday, Aug. 21 at CLC’s Grayslake, Lakeshore and Southlake campuses. No RSVP is required.

If you’re unable to attend a forum, you can also share your feedback through an anonymous online survey through 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24.

Your perspective can help shape the future of College of Lake County. 💚💙

During her time at College of Lake County, Andrea served as Student Trustee, held leadership roles and interned for a state representative, discovering a passion for advocating for community college students across Illinois.

Her next step? Studying political science at Lake Forest College as she prepares for law school.
