A quick little stroll through the hoophouses today and I scooped up a few pretty frillies for a dear sweet girl I have known forever.🩷
The blooms are scattered and more like a scavenger hunt these days, but I am hanging on to every petal for dear life 🥰🤣.
Today it was snapdragons, dahlias, liriope, scabiosas, feverfew, salvia, celosia, eucalyptus, and columbine leaves.

Our second frost was noticeably heavier than the first one.

It looks like frost again at the start of next week. I'm putting up some herbs today. I have Applemint & Curly Parsley going into the freezer & dehydrator. The chives all going in freezer. There is also a bit of Marjoram being preserved as well. I still have tons of Oregano to cut, along with a bit of lavender. My herbs are still pretty happy right now.

When the fresh blooms of summer have faded, I find an immense amount of joy in crafting pretty things from the flowers that I dry from my gardens. These amaranthus and celosias are beautiful in wreaths, garlands, bouquets, and other decorating pieces. I even quite enjoy them when they are hanging from the rafters of my flower cottage during the drying process. Who else enjoys drying flowers for another day?
