🐶 Glenn A. Duffy Elementary's favorite canine staff member Duffy turns two years old this Thursday! Our school community is celebrating with a donation drive for the Bella Vista Animal Shelter. You can help mark his birthday by donating an item from the donation wish list on the attached graphic.

Duffy spends his days supporting children at Glenn A. Duffy Elementary by providing comfort in classrooms and offering quiet breaks during the school day. All items collected during this birthday drive go directly to support animals cared for by the Bella Vista Animal Shelter.

👟 Samaritan's Feet and Highlands Church are providing FREE new shoes and socks for local students at their back-to-school giveaway tomorrow.

📅 Date: Saturday, August 1, 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM
📍 Location: Gravette Middle School Cafeteria

Pre-K through eighth grade students and their older siblings can receive a new pair of shoes, socks, and a Hope Tote with supplies. Children must be present to receive their items. Families who registered in advance have secured spots starting at 10:00 AM. A walk-up session is available from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM where remaining shoes will be distributed first come, first served while supplies last.

📱 Classroom-to-home communication for the 2026-2027 school year is moving into the Gravette Schools app, replacing Remind across all district schools. Families can now find classroom messages, school news, and event calendars all in one place.

Teachers and principals will use the Gravette Schools app to message families directly for the new school year. Current app users will receive a prompt to update when opening the app, while new families can download it to get ready for the upcoming school year. Class rosters will be finalized in the system by Open House on August 6, 2026, allowing teacher messages to reach parents soon after. Once you connect through the new app, you can remove the Remind app from your phone.

Combining district news, event calendars, and direct teacher messages into one app gives families a simple and convenient way to stay informed. Download or update the Gravette Schools app today to prepare for the school year ahead. 🦁🧡

🏫 Registration for the free 21st Century After School Program opens Wednesday, August 6 at Open House and Thursday, August 7 online for kindergarten through eighth grade students. This afterschool program provides certified teacher tutoring, homework help, and enrichment activities Monday through Thursday from dismissal until 5:30 p.m.

Space is limited to students across kindergarten through eighth grade, so families should submit applications early. Paper applications can be submitted during Open House or turned in at the front office of your child's school starting August 7.

To make sure your family can rock this classic sixties-style design at open house, all orders must be submitted by July 26th. Because shirt payments go through Venmo, you must also complete the required Google Form below so the committee can match your payment to your specific size selections and contact details.
