Hello All Tuesday League Parents and Players,

As I have said before, I don't like to cancel for rain. We have done very well the last two weeks with going ahead in the wet conditions and using the clubhouse eves for shelter as well as using my large waterproof event tents. Even though this storm tomorrow is much warmer than the last one we got, it is an atmospheric river event, taping into major tropical mosture. The prediction is for about an inch of rain and most of that right during LARP. I don't think we can play in those conditions and I don't think people traveling to and from LARP in those conditions is a good idea. While the storm timing might shift, I am canceling now so that you can all make other plans instead of waiting to see what happens. If miraculously the weather forecast changes dramatically tomorrow morning, I will send out another email letting you know, but I don't think it is likely. The good news is that this is the last storm in the forecast, and next week should be 71 degrees and sunny. See you all then.

Well people… looks like we will have to cancel tomorrow CLUB LEAGUE 1/4/26 at this point. I have been checking the weather constantly and its now forecast to be an inch of rain! The only break is a slight chance around 4pm. Given the intensity of the rain, and the lack of any really consistent cover at the park, I think we cannot run the event tomorrow. Assume we have no LARP tomorrow unless I post a dramatic forecast change. 😞

Hello FANWAR LARP Players and Families,

I am excited to announce that I am returning to the East Bay for regular league events, every Tuesday this fall, at Arlington Park, from 3:45pm-6:30pm. These events are free for the first day you try them out. If you want to remain, the cost is $20 per event, and they are drop in, no need to pay in advance. Our first event is August 19th (one week away!). I hope to see you all there. Tell your friends and bring them along to learn. We will be doing basic training and learning the rules for the first three weeks or so, so no need to worry that friends might be lost. We are starting small. Hope to see you all there!

Christopher is sick and cannot make it to this event, nor does he want to get anyone else sick if he is contagious. Sorry for the last minute cancelation. If you can make it to the East Bay, there is an event there happening today that Sean and Rowan are running at Arlington Park.

Hello All Wednesday League Parents and Players,

I've been checking the weather models all day, and they all agree that tomorrow afternoon is going to be a washout. Palo Alto is predicted to get an inch of rain just that day, with the majority from 12-7pm when we would be at the park. Rather than leave you all in suspense, I am going to cancel now, so that people can make other plans and avoid the hassle tomorrow.
On the upside, Saturday looks to be clear, and we will be at Mitchell Park doing Character League from 10am-5pm so come join us then!

Hello All Wednesday League Parents and Players,

There is a high likelihood that Wednesday League this week will be canceled due to an Atmospheric River Event predicted to bring over an inch of rain that day to the entire bay area and beyond. The prediction is currently for 100% Rain with 25mph winds. While I have tents and tarps, that kind of rain means that we may not be able to run anything at all on the fields or concrete. I will let you know for sure tomorrow evening if the forecast hasn't changed at all, that we have canceled, but there is a chance it will shift timing and allow us to play. We shall see.

Possible Cancellation 2/13/25 Thursday League (Major Storm!)

Hello All Thursday League Players and Parents,

I don't know why the weather is choosing to be so specific about Thursdays, but AGAIN, an Atmospheric River is scheduled to dump water and bring windy conditions on Thursday, specifically. The heavy rain is forecast to begin Wednesday night and continue into Friday morning. The prediction is for over two inches of rain! LARP cannot run in that kind of wind and precipitation. I have purchased more rain protection for the gazebo (wonderful new clear heavy duty tarps, and extra rain gear, as just rainy weather isn't a major issue, but the potential for heavy rainfall and winds that is predicted with this storm may be. This storm is also predicted to bring snow in the hills, and that means we won't just be getting wet and wind blown, but also freezing. Currently 20mph winds are predicted right in the middle of LARP on Thursday, as well as 97% rain. I am not canceling yet, but the odds are high that I will have to, so I wanted to give you all a heads up to look for my emails about it and prepare other plans if needed.

Hello All Thursday League Players and Parents,

Another atmospheric river is scheduled to hit the state tomorrow morning early and last through until midnight. The heavier rain is predicted in the afternoon during LARP. While this storm isn't suppose to be as bad as yesterday, it's still too much rain for my tents and gear to handle and still do LARP at Willard Libby Park. I will have to cancel the event. Friday League looks to be clear though, so you are all invited to come by Friday League in Petaluma at no cost if you wish. This weekend is also looking clear, so Saturday Zephandria League and Sunday Character League are a go!

Hello All Friday League Parents and Players,

An atmospheric river event is hitting the north bay tonight and will persist into next week. While normally our Friday League handles rain pretty well, this event is forecast for "Definite Rain" from 4am on through the entire day tomorrow by NOAA. The rain amounts are at least an inch, and with that kind of prediction, we won't be able to use the fields and event the paths may become unsafe. So I am canceling LARP tomorrow.
Lumicon is happening on Saturday, and there is rain predicted as well for that event unfortunately. I will still be there Saturday, to teach some sword crafting, and do demos of LARPing, and the weather is predicted to maybe be lighter in the afternoon which might allow us to do some actual games. We shall see. Hope to see you on Saturday.
